Join the choir
St Francis parish choir is faithfully served by volunteer singers. For many years, St Francis has enjoyed a long musical tradition reflecting a broad choral repertoire which has enhanced church services and given inspiration to all who have worshipped here.
The choir sings at the main service on Sundays at 10:15am. At Christmas, the choir sings alongside Fairlop Brass Band and 1st Hainault Scout Group for the annual Carol Service.
We always have room for more choristers in the choir. The Choir rehearses on Fridays from 8-9pm. Singing experience is desirable, although not essential. Primarily it requires a passion for music, dedication and commitment, as well as the inherent qualities of enthusiasm and the ability to sing well. If you would like to join the choir, contact Helen Kerr Wallace.
Become a server
Servers and MCs assist the priest in the sanctuary for each Holy Communion and various other services throughout the liturgical year.
The Servers also assist at the Eucharist by bringing the Eucharistic items to the celebrant, carrying the processional cross and candles in procession, receiving the offering and other duties. During the weekday services, the server may also read the epistle.
The MC’s organise and co-ordinate the liturgy, laying out the vestments before the service and putting them away after the service and assigning tasks to the other servers. During the service, they stand near the celebrant to assist him and provide cues and direction to the other servers so the liturgy proceeds smoothly and reverently. Contact Nicholas Hurst if you are interested in learning more about Servers.

Sunday school / Children's ministry
Sunday school meets each Sunday morning during the Parish Mass offering teaching to children between the ages of 4 and 11. Our sessions are very lively and varied each week. The children select a charity yearly they wish to support from their weekly collection, Water Aid being the most popular.
The children usually take part in the Crib service on Christmas Eve and really enjoy participating in the Nativity play and Esater Garden for Easter Sunday. If you would like to be involved in this ministry, contact Wendy Smith
